A Bit About Scott Schmidt
When Scott Schmidt founded Looking Glass Hospitality, he was already a restaurant industry veteran. After starting as a dishwasher at a restaurant in Columbus, OH, he went on to own a 23,000 square foot sports bar in Chicago. Between then and Looking Glass, he served in executive roles for Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, Ruth’s Hospitality Group, and Tavern Restaurant Group.
He’s a member of the Millennium Advisory Board, an organization comprised of leaders in the food & beverage industry. And, he’s spent the better part of his adult life eating in restaurants around the globe, learning exactly what works for customers...and what doesn’t. An operator at heart, you’ll often find him in one of his restaurants guiding his employees and greeting guests.

Why is being part of the Mason Deerfield Chamber important to you/your organization?
Like the pink diamond, businesses and organizations have many facets. Which facet is your strength and why?
If your company culture, or personal persona, had to be summed up in five words or less, reflective of a
gemstone, what would they be?
Both Scott and Will reside in Mason and we believe joining the chamber is another way for us to demonstrate our commitment to, and appreciation for the community.
Resiliency: with tremendous help from the Mason community, we survived Covid. We never gave up, pulled together as team to keep the restaurant open, and it’s now thriving once again.
Resilient, multifaceted, and deeply grounded.
